HLF Joins Effort to Inspire Canadians to Think Differently about Charitable Giving

The Halton Learning Foundation has joined more than 80 charities, financial advisors and legal services from across the Halton-Hamilton-Niagara Regions to show Canadians the power they have to create positive change through a gift in their Will to charity. Will Power is a public education effort aimed at empowering more Canadians to leave a charitable gift in their Will, which could raise as much as $40 billion dollars to advance the causes Canadians care about. Imagine the impact we could all make!

At HLF, we know that you are committed to helping. We see this every day through our work ensuring that the 10% of Halton District School Board students experiencing poverty have food, clothes and hygiene items and can also participate on teams and bands, or have the resources to apply to college or university. In conversations with our dedicated network of donors, we hear how important it is to level the field for all students to achieve success. At HLF we believe that once more Canadians are aware that a charitable gift in a Will is another way to make a big difference, they will rise to the challenge.

Wills are not just a legal means to distribute your personal assets; they are powerful tools for social change. And it’s not an either/or proposition – you can leave a gift in your Will to charity while still taking care of those you love.

The newly launched Will Power website is designed to make it easier for Canadians to plan their legacy giving. Here you can calculate the impact of your legacy gift while still taking care of loved ones, and connect with advisors to take your next steps.

We encourage you to contact us to learn how your future gift will make a difference for vulnerable students at the Halton Learning Foundation.
