Post-Secondary Scholarships and Awards Available from HLF

Many high school graduates count on scholarships and bursaries to help them achieve their post-secondary dreams. Thanks to generous donors, the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) is offering students of the Halton District School Board the opportunity to apply for more than two dozen such awards this year until Friday, April 26, 2024. Awards range from $750 to $20,000. (Another 40 HLF awards are decided by staff at designated schools.)

HLF awards are available for graduating students pursuing every pathway, including college or university, trade school, apprenticeships or work. Some awards recognize academics or motivation, others focus on values and skills such as volunteerism or leadership, and many are designed to support students who have above average financial need. Scholarship donors include companies, families, organizations and individuals.

“Plenty of students in our community are completely or partially on their own to pay for post-secondary school, so support from scholarships, bursaries and other awards can really help students focus on studying instead of juggling classes with part-time work,” says Marc Clare, CEO of HLF. “In addition to providing financial support, we know that the recognition students get from receiving an award can really motivate them to succeed.”
