Halton Learning Foundation Reaches 50% of its 2024 Back to School Campaign Target
Urgent Call for Final Push to Equip Students with Essential Supplies
The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) is excited to announce that its 2024 Back to School campaign has reached 50% of its goal, successfully helping over 150 students in the Halton District School Board (HDSB) so far. However, with just a few weeks left until the September 30 deadline, HLF is calling on local businesses, and residents to step up and help reach the final target of providing essential supplies to at least 300 students in need.
HLF is receiving an average of 15 requests a day from families for emergency support from HDSB schools. That level of need usually doesn’t happen until November. This school year is already shaping up to be even busier with more students in need than last year, when we helped over 3,000 students—a record number of students in financial need.
“While we’re thrilled to have reached 50% of our goal, there are still many students who need our help,” says Marc Clare, CEO of HLF. “As the new school year kicks off, we are asking for a final push from the community to ensure that every student starts the year with the confidence and supplies they need to succeed.”
