Halton Learning Foundation Announces New Board of Directors

The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) is proud to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors, a dedicated group of community leaders committed to furthering our mission of providing the Halton District School Board (HDSB) students with opportunities to reach their full potential by eliminating financial barriers to education and increasing equity.

This diverse group represents leaders from various sectors, including education, business, and community service. Their collective experience will be instrumental in guiding HLF’s strategic direction, raising awareness, and expanding its reach within the community.

The new HLF board is excited to welcome three new directors—Cecil Arnold, Melissa Davis, and Saud Juman—joining for the first year of their first term. Board members are eligible to sit on HLF’s Board for two consecutive, three-year terms.

HLF is also pleased to announce the reappointment of the following board members:

  • Bob Elliot, Board Chair
  • Rob Smith, Vice Chair
  • Nick Klip, Treasurer
  • Sonia Dayal
  • Marie-Therese Houde
  • Richard McAuliffe
  • Vaswatii Sarmah Barthakur
  • Curtis Ennis, Ex-officio

“Our new Board of Directors brings together a wealth of expertise, passion, and commitment to education and community development,” said Marc Clare, HLF’s CEO. “We are excited about the insights and guidance they will bring, to help us ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed without barriers and that our efforts continue to grow and impact more lives across Halton.”
